Shopping, Fondue, and Sponge Curlers

My brothers and my parents came up on Friday to shop for all the mission gear. We took on Mr. Mac and the Missionary Mall and were there for many hours. It was probably one of the longest shopping trip for both my brothers and my dad. They didn't even complain once about how long it was taking since they all hate to shop. Lexi was the most impatient and we had to keep her entertained by pushing her around in the shopping cart at Missionary Mall. After a long day, my brothers were totally equipped with all their suits, shoes, and every other essential needed.

Valentine's Day was quite a snowy one. My mom and I got an early start shopping for the big fondue night we had planned. We had decided to do a cheese fondue, chicken and beef broth fondue, and a chocolate fondue. Stacy and Jaden came down from Draper as well. It took a while to get everything going but it eventually was a big hit. Dinner took a few hours but it was really fun to do. The guys had a hard time only cooking a small bite of meat or chicken at a time but after a lot of rounds they got full, I think! I had also made some pecan carmel clusters and peanut butter truffles that we put in chocolate boxes that we found. My mom bought some other candy and chocolates to add and we made one for each one of the guys. My dad had bought my mom some beautiful white roses and Jaron bought me gorgeous red roses. Jaron also bought a bouquet of pink roses for Lexi! It was such a fun Valentine's Day!

Lexi has sure been keeping us busy lately. She is crawling around everywhere and pulls herself up on everything. Her naps have become playtime in her crib, and it takes her sometimes 45 minutes to an hour to go to sleep. Lexi loves "patty cake" and her favorite word right now is "Uh Oh" said multiple times over and over. She is less fond of her bottle and loves to drink out of a straw. She is getting so big and is almost a year old. She still doesn't have a lot of hair on top of her head, but it has gotten pretty long in the back. I decided it was time to bust out the sponge curlers. For those of you who have known me forever, know that sponge curlers are a novelty in my house growing up. The Scoble girls were known for always wearing sponge curlers at night. I even wore them in college, I know... crazy, I really should have rethought that decision! Even though Lexi's hair is still a little short, it was still fun to do. I can't wait until she gets more hair that I can actually do.

Isn't she adorable!?

Eventually they will work!

Haha! I love the curlers! Fondu pots are the best to do at parties also. No need to fuss over if someone has enough to eat.

I seriously laughed so hard when I saw Lexi with her curlers I almost peed my pants! (Not hard to do at this stage in pregnancy but you get the idea) I wish we could have been there this last weekend. I felt like I really missed out! I love yours and Lexi's roses. Such a sweet idea for your hubby to get some for his littlest princess! LOVE YOU GUYS!

Sponge curlers are definitely a Scoble girl trademark. Lexi looks cute as ever. That fondu looks so good! What a great idea for Valentine's Day. I still can't believe your brothers are old enough to be leaving on a mission!!

I can't believe that your brothers are old enough to serve missions, crazy. Lexi is too cute and the sponge curlers are adorable, I've thought about trying some in Ryan's hair. They remind me of that picture your parents had or maybe still have of you by their front door!

Who ever said fondue was a "fon-don't"? It looks like so much fun!!
Don't worry, Lexi will enjoy trips to the store soon enough... My 3year old told the sales girl at Victoria's Secret that Wal-mart was the coolest store because "it's so cheap"! Funny girl. Lexi is so darling & always so well dressed -- you're looking rather cute yourself!
