Mission calls, Stacy's shower, and Lexi

I have been a little busy lately so I haven't posted in a while. This month we have been out of town the last two weekends. Now that we are in town for at least a few months, I decided to blog. Two weekends ago we went to my grandparents in New Harmony to be with my grandparents. My grandpa was diagnosed with colon cancer and just started chemotherapy so we went to help cheer him and my grandma up. My brothers also got their mission call the day they drove up to my grandparents so we were able to be there for the big opening. Thomas is going to Washington D.C. South and Tyler is going to Independence, Missiouri. If you would like to see a video of it you can go to my sister Mindy's blog to watch them open it. We were very excited for them and glad they were staying in the states. They both report to the MTC on March 25th.

This past Thursday we drove down to Vegas for Stacy's bridal shower. Thursday was my mom's birthday so we decided to surprise her at work with a cake that I had decorated. I just learned a few of the basics and decorated it the night before. So I put it in a cake caddy and took it to work. I was glad that it turned out pretty well and it tasted good. I still have some practicing to do so that I can get really good.

Stacy's shower turned out great and there we lots of people that came. We had quite the spread of food we had made and I think everyone had a really good time. My 5th grade teacher, Miss Blomberg/Ms. Hodge also came. All of my siblings except Thomas had her for 5th grade so it was so fun to chat with her. I really enjoyed seeing and visiting with so many friends and family members.

Lexi is sure getting big. She has finally learned to crawl and is in to everything. She also has learned that she can pull herself up in her crib and play when it is nap time. Eventhough she is getting into everything and won't nap as well, I am still enjoying every minute. I absolutely love being a mom and watching her experience so many new things. Lexi is also really into table food now and wants to eat whatever we are eating. She doesn't have a lot of teeth yet but loves Yo Baby yogurt, puffs, and yogurt melts. She still refuses to hold her own bottle but does well to feed herself snacks and water from her sippy.
