Busy travelers!

Yes, we are still alive! We have been so busy lately traveling and such that I have neglected the blog. So I will give you a quick update over the past month. Alexis turned one on March 9th but unfortunately her and I were both very sick. We had planned a little party for her but ended up postponing it till Friday the 13th. Jaron had bought lots of balloons and a single red rose for her and we had also gotten her a Little people bus that she can ride on. My mom and brothers were here too for the birth of Stacy's baby, Kysa. Lexi destroyed her little cake I made her and loved it. She is a big fan of squishing food in her hands anyway so she thought it was great! I also made cookies and ice cream cake for everyone else.

Anybody want some?

A few days after Lexi's birthday, we drove down to Vegas for Thomas and Tyler's farewell. It is so crazy that my brothers are even old enough to serve missions! They did a great job on their talks in church and I know they will be awesome missionaries! After church we had a large social gathering of mostly family and friends. Of course there was an enormous amount of food! After the farewell we rented a car and drove back to Utah on Tuesday to drop my brothers off at the MTC on the 25th. It was so much harder for me than I even thought it would be. Those of you that have experienced it, know it is a bittersweet experience. Lexi was being very fussy that day, which didn't help the mood. We drove home is silence because I was having a hard time keeping it together. It was great seeing how grown up my brothers have become and I am going to miss them so much. They are going to be such amazing missionaries though!

On Thursday there was a huge snow storm so we ended up leaving late that afternoon and drove my grandma's in New Harmony. The next morning we drove to Vegas, let Lexi play for a couple of hours at my mom's house and then drove to Surprise, Arizona. Jaron's sister, Shelly, was blessing her baby girl. It was very nice and warm there so we were able to take Lexi to the park with Shelly's little boys. They have a cool Radio Flyer wagon, that we just got from Jaron's parents as well :) , that we took her in. She absolutely loved it! The blessing was wonderful and it was so fun to see all of Jaron's family together. Lexi loved playing with her little cousins and all the fun toys there. Shelly and I exchanged lots of yummy recipes and it was great to just be there and visit since we don't get to see them very often. We ended up staying until Monday morning and then drove back to my parent's house.

We stayed the week at my parent's home for Mindy's baby shower. There were so many people that showed up and I was able to see people I haven't seen since I was in high school. Mindy got so many adorable things and the shower went really well.

Mindy gave Lexi her first haircut while we were down there too since she was getting quite the mullet!

So we ended up driving back up here to Utah on Monday, April 6th. So yes, you can say we have been busy! Now I am just getting back into my old routine of cooking, cleaning, and playing with Alexis!
