A trip to Henderson

October 21st Stacy and I, with our girls, went down to visit our parents for the weekend. Jaden was going hunting and Jaron had to work so we decided to embark on the adventure solo. It was quite the experience with our three girls squished into the middle seats in Stacy’s Tahoe. Luckily Stacy’s car is equipped with a DVD player so most of the ride Lexi and Kysa were somewhat entertained. Kysa cried a lot of the way for some unknown reason and Kaylee, who hates riding in the car and more specifically her car seat, screamed 2/3rds of the way down and back. Stacy and I, being the terrible mothers that we are, would just laugh because we were screaming at each other to talk. We were very relieved when we got there!
We had so much fun just hanging out with my mom and Mindy and her kids. Stacy and I also went with my dad and Austin to Hoover Dam and walked up to the new bridge. It was pretty neat but it was so high up it made me a little scared of heights. My mom made Lexi an amazing Genie costume that turned out so cute while we were there. We also made a Halloween craft, caramel apples, and others fabulous things. We celebrated Mindy and my dad’s birthdays while we were there by going to BJ’s and then had a Snickers ice cream cake that I made them. Both were delish! Even though Stacy and I had a great time, I think we both would agree that we would have liked having our husbands with us.

Our one moment of complete silence that lasted about 20 minutes

Pumpkin Patch

Stacy and I have made it a tradition to go to a pumpkin patch each year and then go and eat at the Pie Pizzeria before or after. This year we went to a different pumpkin patch that was closer to Stacy’s house in Draper. It had little booths that sold chocolate, clothes, homemade donuts and lots more. There were also tons of pumpkins that you could buy. We had a lot of fun even though we weren’t there very long, but we all got some big pumpkins to carve.

Our Bumbo Girl

We always wanted to get a Bumbo because we had heard how great they were but they were a little expensive. We decided to get one for Kaylee and it was so worth it. It is fabulous to let her sit up and see everything without having to hold her all the time! It’s great and I just wish we had gotten it when we had Lexi.

PumpkinLand

The beginning of October began with a visit to Pumpkin Land in Provo. Stacy and Kysa came and went with us. It was our first time and it wasn’t as great as we were expecting but I think the girls had fun. Unfortunately about a thousand preschool kids showed up right after we got there so it was hard for the girls to really do much playing. We still got some cute pictures however.

Kaylee's Blessing

This post is a little late since we blessed Kaylee on September 5th but I had to wait to get all the pictures from my dad. All of my family was able to come up and Jaron’s parents and his younger sister Nicki and her family. My good friend and old roommate, Suzi, also came. The blessing was wonderful except that Kaylee didn’t want to cooperate and screamed through the entire thing. Luckily the young man holding the microphone did a great job and allowed all of us to hear it even if no one in the circle could. After the blessing we were able to cram into my little home and have a great little luncheon. It was so nice to visit with family and we are so grateful that so much of our family was able to make the trip.

An update with lots of pictures

I thought I should give a quick overview of the last few weeks. Two weeks after Kaylee was born I went with my mom down to Vegas for ten days. It was nice to have my mom helping me for so long and it definitely made the transition from one to two children much easier for me. While we were down there, Lexi and Austin had so much fun together going to the water park and playing together. They also got a little too crazy and loud and often got in trouble when they were together too. We got to celebrate Austin’s 5th birthday and go to Chucky Cheese again. Unfortunately that was right before we came home and I was feeling very sick there. When we got back to my parent’s house I realized I had Mastitis again. We ended up staying a day longer because I was just too sick to get everything packed up in time. Needless to say I will not be nursing again after such a traumatic experience for me.
Jaron’s birthday was on the 4th and I made him a Snickers ice cream cake that was huge, but it was delicious! Unfortunately having such a new baby didn’t allow us to go out, but hopefully we can do that sometime in the future.
Kaylee is two months old on Sunday and is getting so big. She is much bigger than Lexi was at this age and I am sure it is because she is on formula rather than breast milk now. I think she was a little colic until the last couple of weeks and still has some very fussy times but is overall doing great. I have been very lucky because she has been a great little sleeper. At 7 weeks she was already sleeping 8 hours at night, which is awesome. She still has some nights when she wakes up only after 4 or 5 hours but overall allows me enough sleep to function!
Alexis has adjusted quite well and loves her sister very much. She will occasionally get a doll or a stuffed animal and a bottle and feed it while I feed Kaylee. She loves having a little sister but we have to remind her that she is only a baby when she tries to hug her. Alexis is sure growing up too and says things everyday that surprises me. She totally repeats everything I say and has picked up some phrases my mom says as well. We are still working on potty training and I have decided that I don’t think it is ever going to “click” for her. I began the week I found out I was pregnant so it has taken FOR-EV-ER!
As for me I am just trying to lose those last 10 pounds that seem to be lingering. I am still so tired everyday even though I am getting about 6 ½ hours of sleep but it is sure hard to go to the gym at 6:30 a.m. I have been trying to workout at home but that is a juggling game with the girls. I only have a month before my 10-year class reunion so I am trying to work it off fast! Wish me luck!
