An update with lots of pictures

I thought I should give a quick overview of the last few weeks. Two weeks after Kaylee was born I went with my mom down to Vegas for ten days. It was nice to have my mom helping me for so long and it definitely made the transition from one to two children much easier for me. While we were down there, Lexi and Austin had so much fun together going to the water park and playing together. They also got a little too crazy and loud and often got in trouble when they were together too. We got to celebrate Austin’s 5th birthday and go to Chucky Cheese again. Unfortunately that was right before we came home and I was feeling very sick there. When we got back to my parent’s house I realized I had Mastitis again. We ended up staying a day longer because I was just too sick to get everything packed up in time. Needless to say I will not be nursing again after such a traumatic experience for me.
Jaron’s birthday was on the 4th and I made him a Snickers ice cream cake that was huge, but it was delicious! Unfortunately having such a new baby didn’t allow us to go out, but hopefully we can do that sometime in the future.
Kaylee is two months old on Sunday and is getting so big. She is much bigger than Lexi was at this age and I am sure it is because she is on formula rather than breast milk now. I think she was a little colic until the last couple of weeks and still has some very fussy times but is overall doing great. I have been very lucky because she has been a great little sleeper. At 7 weeks she was already sleeping 8 hours at night, which is awesome. She still has some nights when she wakes up only after 4 or 5 hours but overall allows me enough sleep to function!
Alexis has adjusted quite well and loves her sister very much. She will occasionally get a doll or a stuffed animal and a bottle and feed it while I feed Kaylee. She loves having a little sister but we have to remind her that she is only a baby when she tries to hug her. Alexis is sure growing up too and says things everyday that surprises me. She totally repeats everything I say and has picked up some phrases my mom says as well. We are still working on potty training and I have decided that I don’t think it is ever going to “click” for her. I began the week I found out I was pregnant so it has taken FOR-EV-ER!
As for me I am just trying to lose those last 10 pounds that seem to be lingering. I am still so tired everyday even though I am getting about 6 ½ hours of sleep but it is sure hard to go to the gym at 6:30 a.m. I have been trying to workout at home but that is a juggling game with the girls. I only have a month before my 10-year class reunion so I am trying to work it off fast! Wish me luck!

Kaylee Lyn Rime

She is finally here and is actually two weeks old today. Kaylee Lyn Rime was born on June 29th at 4:46 pm and weighed 6 pounds 15 ounces and was 19 inches long. I was actually surprised I made it until the 29th because I had been having contractions on and off for 5 days before. I was induced at 1:15 pm and got my epideral about an hour later. I was lucky to have gotten it when I did too because I was only in labor for about 3 1/2 hours. Right when the doctor was coming up to break my water, it broke on its own. My doctor checked me and I was dialated to a 10. I only pushed twice and she was out. I was so grateful that it was the easiest labor ever.
Since being home I have had a lot of problems with breastfeeding and after lots of tears and Mastitis, I am weeing. Other than that Kaylee is such a good baby and we love having her in our family. She has the loudest newborn cry ever and lets everyone know when she is hungry or that she hates her pants being changed. Lexi is still adjusting to sharing mommy and daddy with a new baby. She loves her little sister though and always wants to hold her. Lexi has been needing lots of attention however and has been pretty naughty. Luckily she is a daddy's girl lately which has allowed me more time with the baby. We are so grateful for all the love and support we have recieved from family members and friends and especially to my mother who has been up here for 2 1/2 weeks helping me with everything! Also to Stacy who gratefully watched Lexi while we had Kaylee!
We are now headed down tomorrow with my mom to the dreaded heat in Vegas for a week and a half. Jaron has to take a mortgage test so we are letting him study, sleep, and work while we go hang out with some family.

Dinosaur Museum and Farm Country

Yesterday Lexi and I were able to go with Driel, my old roommate from college, and her two girls to the Dinosaur Museum and Farm Country at Thanksgiving Point. We had such a good time catching up, while the girls explored and played. Lexi and Moriah became instant friends and were holding hands throughout the day. They loved playing in the sand at the Dinosaur Museum and getting to touch so many things. Lexi wasn’t too sure about the all the animals at Farm Country and refused to ride the ponies. She freaked out and said they were scary so we watch Driel and her her girls enjoy the ride. We had such a good time since we had never been there before and I hope we can go again soon. Thanks Driel for letting us come! We had a blast!

Getting close!

It is hard to believe that I am only days away to having another baby. When I went to the doctor on Tuesday I am already dilated to almost a 2 and 75% effaced. That is what my doctor told me the last doctor appointment before I had Lexi too and she came 9 days early. I am getting induced on the 29th if I haven’t had her before then but my doctor thinks I will probably go on my own. My mom is coming up to help for two weeks and then I will go back with her to Vegas for a week so it will be so nice to have help for 3 weeks. I just can’t believe it could be any day now!

Anniversary #4

June 10th was Jaron and my 4th year anniversary! Since it was a Thursday and Jaron had to work all day I made a big dinner complete with candles, sparkling cider, and Carrabbas dipping seasoning. I also made scallop potatoes, smothered chicken, corn on the cob, salad, and éclairs for dessert. It turned out great but I was on my feet all day running around to do it all, which made me very tired later that night. I tried to make it romantic, but how romantic can a dinner be when you have a 2 year old throwing her food on the floor and singing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star next to you!? It was still fun even though. Last Saturday we were able to go to the Cheesecake Factory in Salt Lake, while my sister watched Lexi for us. I had forgotten how nice it is to go out with just my husband and we both really enjoyed it.

Mother's Day weekend - a very late post

I have been meaning to post this for a while now but I just haven’t gotten around to it. Last month for Mother’s Day we rode down with Stacy, Jaden and Kysa to Vegas. We had such a blast having a picnic and playing at the park with my family on Saturday. Then later that night we went to BJ’s restaurant for Stacy’s birthday. On Sunday we went to my cousin baby blessing all together for Mother’s Day and after church we were able to talk to both of my brothers on the phone , since they are on a mission. All of the guys made us dinner as well so it was fun to be all together.
Mindy’s little girl Kenzie also turned one so we were able to celebrate her birthday and make her a cute bumblebee cake as well. I directed and supervised but Mindy did most of the work. I think she did a fabulous first decorating job!
Since I have been back at home I have been making a lot of strawberry freezer jam and just getting ready for baby number 2. It was my very first attempt at homemade jam and I have been getting rave reviews from my family so I guess it turned out pretty well. We sure have enjoyed it and I have been making lots of pancakes, waffles, crepes, and pb and jam sandwiches so we can eat the yummy jam too.
