A little Vegas

This past week Lexi and I flew down to Las Vegas to stay with my family for about six days. Jaron had to fly to Texas for his job and I didn't want to chill at my house by myself. I was a little nervous since I had never flown with a baby. The hardest part of the flying experience was going through security! I decided to take her carrier and stroller so it would be easier to get around. When we got to security I had to take off my shoes and her shoes, take her out of the carrier to send it though along with the stroller. I also had her huge diaper bag and my purse. Then as I proceeded through security I beeped. It apparently was my earrings, so I took them out while trying to hold Lexi. She will grab anything within reach so as I was trying to hold her along with my boarding pass, she began crunching it. It was a little crazy to say the least. Lexi was great on the plane however and slept the entire way. When we got there my mom and Tyler picked us up. My cousin was blessing his baby so we had to rush to his church to make it. We actually got there 20 minutes early. I knew I needed to go change Lexi's diaper since we had heard some wonderful sounds coming from her bottom in the car. My mom and I went into the bathroom and to make a long story short, she had a nice little blowout all over the back of her clothes. I got out my trusty Tide-to-go and cleaned it the best I could. She was a little wet from the water I used but I figured it was the best I could do!
It was very fun to be home and just hang with my sis, mom and bros. My dad was in Alaska so it was kind of a girls weekend . . . with my brothers!  The highlights of the trip were Golden Spoon, shopping at the Outlet Mall, having lunch with my fam at my mom's school, shopping with Melissa, and seeing some of my really good friends from high school. It was so fun to see Amy, Melissa, Jill and Emily. I haven't seen Emily in at least four years so it was great to catch up. We had a great time just laughing and sharing boy and kid stories. It really made me miss having close friends. Thanks girls for getting together with me, even though you just did it a few days before!

Lexi's little outfit she wore on the plane and had her blowout in! :)

That little outfit is to die for, but it's nothing compared to those cheeks and thighs!

It was so good to see you too! Thanks for letting us spend the evening with you and your family. We'll have to get together again next time you come down.

Geez, I don't even get to be mentioned by name?! LOL Just kidding. Lexi is ALWAYS adorable and I love the story about her crunching your boarding pass cause I can TOTALLY see her doing it! :)

I just recently flew to Utah alone with both of my boys...I agree that security is probaly the hardest part, especially when they can run away! I love visiting family, glad you got the chance. What does your husband do that took him to Texas? We will be moving to Dallas after this school year.

It was good to hear about your flying experience, even though it was a bit challenging. I'm about to fly for the first time with Levi and I'm a little nervous since my husband isn't coming along either. Any suggestions?

You are brave to fly alone with a baby, I haven't tried it yet. It must be so nice to come and hang out with your family... the bad thing about living in the same city as family is that I never have a reason to go stay with my mom for a weekend :)

Could Lexi be any cuter?? Seriously!! I love her bows, do you make them?? I did love being a stay at home mom, but unfortunately my maternity leave ended and I went back to work this week =( So about the medical transcription, I think you have up to a year to finish the course and I took my course through UNLV through Gatlin Education. I think if you go to gatlineducation.com it will give you more info. I really enjoyed the course and did really well in it, BUT have not been able to find a job (at least not an at home job). Most companies want 2 years experience. I am still trying though... so hopefully I will be able to find something and eventually be able to work from home. Good luck and if you need anymore info just let me know. (Sorry about the super long comment)

It looks like you had a lot of fun down in Vegas with mom and them. I didn't get to hear the airport story. That must have been pretty hard. I wish I could have come in to help you. I am glad that things went ok though. We really need to get together. I haven't seen you since you came back. Maybe we can make a trip down there and do dinner and just talk baby stuff. I need all the advice I can get. I love ya!

Hey Britney! I actually found you through laura's blog, which I found through Danielle's blog, who I found I facebook. I was searching for BYU friends on facebook because my friend actually found a group to join that was all the girls from her dorm, so anyways, once I found Danielle, I started clicking on links of the first names I recognized because I knew everyone was probably married. My e-mail is brockandkristina@yahoo.com if you want to get in touch. Or my phone is 781-762-4943. Our home phone actually doesn't have long distance...(the joys of student life) It was fun catching up on your life! Take care!

Don't you hate it when they blow out all over their cutest outfits? I hope you got the stain out! If not, at least you got some cute pictures before she ruined it. Randall makes fun of me because he thinks I care more about taking pictures of their outfits than of the babies themselves. That's not true though because no matter how adorable the outfit, it's the cute baby that makes the picture, and Lexi is adorable!

Your little girl is so adorable!! I have had a few air plane rides myself with Allie and I would rather drive 15 hours in a car then do it again. I don't know when the next time will be that I'm in Vegas but it would be so fun to plan a reunion or something. I would love to catch with everyone.
