Part of Lexi's bedtime routine is story time. She doesn't always look at the pictures or really even pay attention, but I think it is very important. I have hundreds of books from teaching so I have a very wide variety to choose from. Jaron is reading one of my favorites Fancy Nancy, which is a such a cute book. I highly recommend it if you don't have it!

We try to go on little walks every once in a while when the weather is nice. We have had some cloudy days which have been great to go out in. Lexi loves going outside, especially in the stroller. Even though she doesn't look very happy, she really does love to be outside!

We bought Lexi this adorable shirt that says "You're lookin' at one CUTE Cougar" and Jaron insists that she wear it every game day! We are convinced it is lucky since BYU has won every time she has worn it! 

Haircut!

For those of you who have known me my entire life, know I never cut my hair. Scoble girls were known for their long locks and would only trim regularly. Within the last few years some of us have experimented with different colors and cuts but I, however, remained the same. I did regularly weave my hair but it remained long! After having a baby I have come to realize that it's not very easy having long hair. Lexi continually pulled out one or two strands multiple times a day. They would often be hanging from her little hand and even her toes. After seeing this happen repeatedly, I decided I needed a change. So I talked to my good friend and neighbor, Haley, who does hair and came up with an idea for a haircut. It's a big change for me even though it doesn't look that drastic. I am still experimenting and trying to style it but, let me know what you think!

This last week Lexi and I each got a new toy. Her toy is a little jumperoo, which she is really starting to love. It took her a couple of days to figure it out but now that she has the hang of it she can really get some air. It has been great for me too because now I can put her in it while I cook or clean and I don't have to hold her.  

My toy is a new vacuum! For any of you who are looking for an awesome vacuum, let me introduce you to the best one! It is a Dyson ball and WOW is it amazing. I never thought I could be this in love with a vacuum but it is seriously great! Let me just tell you the highlights 1 - It is on a ball and can swivel in a complete circle, 2 - It is very small and since we have no storage space it fits very nicely underneath the stairs, 3 - It can get right next to my floor molding, 4- the wand reaches like 17 feet and can reach all my stairs without having to carry it all the way up them, 5 - it never looses suction and it looks like my carpet has been professionally cleaned after, 6 - It is the best for people with allergies and sucks up everything (unlike my other vacuum that actually left a layer of dust on everything) 7 - It is bagless and you push a button for the bottom to drop and dump everything it sucked up. As you can see I really love this vacuum and if those awesome tips don't sell you, then I don't know what would. It is a little costly however but it does have a 5 year warrantee which almost triples the life of my previous, now donated to DI vacuum! Here is how you get a good deal though! The average cost is about $499 - but here is the secret! Get it at Bed, Bath and Beyond and use one of the many 20% off coupons! It knocks off $100 and you can get it for $399! I don't know about you, but that is a killer deal! I could totally be a salesperson for Dyson . . . Jaron would be proud!

Alexis is getting so big! We went to the doctor yesterday and she is quite the little chunker. She weighs 17 1/2 pounds and is in the 80th percentile. We knew she was getting heavy! She is only in the 30th percentile for her height too, so basically she could be an Umpa-Lumpa (short and plump). Hopefully she will grow out of that soon! The doctor said she looks great and is very healthy. She did have to have her 6 month shots though and that wasn't much fun. She screamed of course but I did much better. I was able to hold her hands and not get emotional at all. I think I am making good progress with that. It was nice to have Jaron there too! He always tries to make it to all of Lexi's appointments, which I love. He is such a good dad! Lexi also has two little teeth. We have tried to get pictures but she always wants to lick us when we try! The doctor also told us she can have water, which she loves! We have tried to feed it to her in a bottle but she won't drink it. However if we put it in a sippy cup, she will guzzle it down. We couldn't get it away from her in the above pic. She had such a strong grip! She totally takes after her mom though because for any of you that know me, I can drink A LOT of H2O!

New Talents!

Lately Lexi has been learning some very lovely talents. She started spitting last week which is really a joy, especially when I am feeding her. I love getting pea stains out of my shirt! Also she has developed quite the little squeal! It is VERY high-pitched and usually in my ear! She thinks it is very cool however and does it quite often. Eventhough it is ear-piercing, it is still cute! Lexi has at last started laughing too. We were a little concerned because she hadn't really laughed yet, but a couple of days ago it happened. I know that Jaron and I aren't very funny people but we at least thought Lexi would think we were funny! She is selective about when she wants to laugh though, since it has only been like three times, and it hasn't been around dad yet! He only heard her over the phone. I think Lexi is very smart and is really laughing inside at how stupid we look trying to make her laugh!

I know it has been a while since I updated this so I guess I should inform everyone what has been going on. A few weeks ago we had the first Scoble family reunion which you can read about on my sister, Mindy's blog. There is the lovely picture of me with my black eye that was forming too. It got much worse over the next few days and even turned a lovely dark purple and then faded into a wonderful pale yellow. After the reunion I went down to my parent's house in Henderson and stayed for a week. Jaron had to work so it was just Lexi and me. I usually forgot I had a black eye when we would go out and I'm sure people were probably thinking I was abused. Especially since Jaron was in Utah! Anyway being home with my family was so much fun even though I missed Jaron. I even got my mom to do P90X with me. I don't know if you have heard of P90X or not but it is a kick butt workout program. I have been doing it on and off for a few weeks when I can. I don't get a very big window during the day with Lexi so needless to say I don't get to workout everyday. I am slowly getting back to my pre-baby weight though and I only have a few pounds to go!!! 

After coming back to Utah, Jaron started a new job. The mortgage industry hasn't been working out with the economy in the dumps, so it has been a little rough lately. Jaron has started working a new job in the Health Care industry and enjoying that with his degree at BYU being more in the Medical Sales industry. Lately I have just been playing with Lexi and trying to keep my house clean, laundry done, and meals cooked.
