Our little chunker!

Over the last month Alexis has been eating baby food and rice cereal. She actually prefers vegetables to fruit, which was very surprising. She is getting better with the spoon feeding but she still manages to make quite a mess all over her face. I am sure I help her with that a bit however. Lexi is also a pretty good little eater.  She has really begun to develop quite the little rolls on her arms and legs. On Sunday she wore the cute little blue dress with a bracelet but the bracelet was hard to see underneath the layer of chub! :) We love that she is so chubby though because it gives us something to squeeze and hold on to.

Our Anniversary

I figured since Jaron and I just celebrated our 2nd anniversary on June 10th, I should post some of our wedding pictures. I wanted to give a little history about how Jaron and I met and our story for many of you who don't know Jaron. It all started back in August 2005 at a ward BBQ. I had just finished my intern year teaching 4th grade and graduated from BYU. I moved to south Provo with Suzi Doll, a friend I had met while teaching. We were still in a BYU ward but the people were much older and I was one of the babies of the ward. Jaron noticed me right away and quickly was in pursuit. I however was only interested in going the friend route. We hung out a lot though, just as friends but he was always trying to trick me into going on dates with him. He also started showing up at the gym later so that we would be working out at the same time. He was pretty sneaky! My roommates knew I didn't like him the way he liked me so they were always helping me out. Jaron was unaware of this and therefore didn't get along with my roommates so well. Jaron was pretty persistent so we had to have the dreaded DTR and I told him I wasn't interested in dating him. This didn't phase him a bit. He continued to come over, call me, and still wanted to hang out. I didn't mind being with him as long as he knew I only wanted to be friends. Well to make a long story short, I had to tell him a 2nd time I only wanted to be friends and that just about killed him. In December I even told him I was going to pick up my friend from the airport with my roommates to get out of being with him. I got in the car, waited for him to go down the street and around the corner, and then went back in the house. I was so mean! About 2 weeks after that, I started to feel differently somehow. Jaron and I were both FHE leaders so we were constantly paired up. Our groups were doing a sub for Santa and since we were the leaders we had to go shopping together. Of course once we were done, Jaron wanted to go to dinner and a movie. This time I wasn't that hesitant to go, in fact I found myself really wanting to go. We ended up going to Outback, his favorite restaurant, and to see The Chronicles of Narnia. I had a great time and was totally falling for him. Anyway we ended up driving down to Vegas together for Christmas. He was from California so after I got home he continued the rest of the way with his sister. A few days after Christmas, my family went down to Disneyland and Jaron met us and came too. That night he took me to Newport beach and we walked along the beach and the pier. There he kissed me and we were together ever since. Needless to say, many people were shocked when they found out we were dating since I had been so adamant about NOT dating him. So to sum it up, we started dating December 28th, we knew we were going to get married eleven days later but didn't get engaged until February 3rd. We then were married in the Las Vegas temple on June 10th. It is a fun story and Jaron loves to tell it, since he knew way before me that we were going to get married. Everyone thought he was crazy to keep pursuing but he wasn't about to give up. Jaron is the man I have always looked for and I love him so much. He treats me like a queen and works very hard to support our family. He is very ambitious and won't stop until he has achieved his very best. I am so grateful to have realized what a wonderful guy was right in front of me for so many months. He and Lexi are everything to me and I am a much better person having them in my life!

Hicky!

Over the past few weeks Lexi has discovered her hands and continues to suck on them. She seems to like it better than the pacifier. The bad thing is she slobbers so bad and everything gets soaking wet. Yesterday, my sister, Stacy came down from Draper to babysit. Jaron and I needed to go to the temple so she was the only one I felt comfortable leaving Lexi with. Being the paranoid mother that I am, I left a million instructions. Stacy seemed very capable though so I felt alright leaving her. Going to the temple was great since we haven't gone in a while, but I did think about Lexi a lot. When we got home, everything seemed fine and Stacy said Lexi was very good. However I did notice some funny looking red marks on Stacy's arm. When I asked her about it, she said they were from Lexi. She said that Lexi was crying and my mom had told her to hold her face-down on her stomach. Well apparently Lexi started sucking on Stacy's arm. When she tried to pull her off and give her the pacifier she started screaming, so instead of listening to her cry, Stacy gave in and let Lexi give her a hicky. I guess Lexi really prefers flesh to anything plastic. We could have some real problems in the future if she keeps this up!

Dress up

Lately one of my favorite things is to dress up Lexi in fun little outfits and take pictures. She is growing so fast and I don't think she will be able to wear some of her clothes very soon. Since she is drinking formula now, she is becoming a little chunker and developing lots of little rolls

Why is the bath water GREEN?!

Lexi loves her bath time now and is very content during it. She is almost too big for the little hammock thing she lays in, but as long as she has a wash cloth over her and daddy keeps pouring the warm water she is great! Well, Saturday night Jaron and I were giving Lexi her bath and I was washing her while Jaron poured the water. After scrubbing her we just let her lay there and enjoy it for a moment. When it was time to get her out, I always put one hand under her head and one under her bum and lift her out quickly and lay her on the towel. I always hurry and wrap her up in the towel and start drying her. As I pulled the towel down to put on her diaper, I was alarmed to see very green poop under her bum and it was all over the towel, even on the little top part that covers her head. How in the world did poop get everywhere? I hurried and grabbed a wipe and wiped it up as best I could. Then we put her back into the bathtub to wash her again. I then realized the inside of my hand was green! Lexi must have pooped in my hand at the exact moment I was pulling her out of the tub. What timing!!! That was how it got all over the towel! It was in my hand! How did I not know she had pooped in my hand, you might ask. She was very wet coming out of the tub and so was the poop!  Just as we put her in and put the washcloth back over her, Jaron heard a particular sound and saw green oozing out into the bath water. He of course bolted to the other side of the room yelling Ewww, GROSS! I hurried and grabbed a paper towel, which was the closest thing to the tub resembling a wipe and scooped up as much as I could off the hammock. However my efforts failed when I noticed the green ooze had already contaminated the water. We rinsed her off as best we could, but had to result to wipes mostly. I was so relieved when I finally had her diaper on because there wouldn't be anymore disasters! While I continued with Lexi's bedtime routine, Jaron, the noble dad, was left to clean up the mess off the tub and towels. Luckily, we have this amazing green spray called Advanage that takes out ANYTHING, including very green poop!!!

Lexi's blessing

My sister blogged about this already but I wanted to show off her adorable pictures that my dad took of her. She was too fussy to take the pictures on the day of her blessing, so we had to take them the next morning after she had eaten and was happy!

Lexi Scare!

Well, I am finally updating our blog since everyone in my family has been bugging me about it. I still don't really know what I am doing but I guess I will just experiment a little. Lately it has been a little crazy for Jaron and me. Last Thursday when I was feeding Lexi, I laid her down to change her and she started spiting up blood everywhere. Her entire bib was covered including some of the couch and the burp rag. I freaked out, of course, and called Jaron crying. Luckily he was driving on the freeway already on his way home. I then called my dad and he told me to take her to the hospital. Our pediatrician is next to the hospital and is much cheaper than the emergency room, so we called and got her right in. The pediatrician told us that she might have an ulcer and we needed to take her to the hospital in the morning for some tests. I wasn't feeling any better about it but Lexi was happy and cooing the entire time. She probably was wondering why her mother was so upset and crazy. The next morning we went to the hospital and they fed her some white pasty stuff in a bottle while they took x-rays of her stomach. The radiologist said he didn't see an ulcer but he still didn't tell us what was wrong. So we called the doctor later and found out she has a mild reflux. Basically it is like she has heartburn a lot. So needless to say, she has been really fussy lately and crying a lot. Luckily the medicine we have been giving her is finally working and today she is like her old self. Today she has been so happy! We still don't know exactly why she spit up so much blood but I guess I won't worry about it unless it happens again. I am just so grateful that she is alright and I know all our prayers helped!

Rookie Bloggers!

Hi Everyone! After the many requests that we have received we finally have a blog. We are still learning how to do this so eventually we will get the hang of it. Our little Lexi is doing great. We just went to the Doc for the two month checkup and we are happy to report that Lexi has grown to 8lbs 14oz and is 21 1/2 inches long. Our Doctor was very impressed with her neck and leg strength saying she may be two months ahead of her time in "babystrength". Lexi is a fan of riding in the car, drinkin milk and any kind of bouncing. She is getting better with bath time but HATES lotion. She has some Extremely long eyelashes. She must get that from Daddy!
Lexi went to school with mommy yesterday to show off for all the teachers. We don't mean to brag but they all did say "she is the cutest baby EVER!" :)
Britney took Lexi to her classroom. She told the students they could look at her but were not allowed to touch or breath on her.
As far as me, I was just called to the Sunday School Presidency in my ward. Work is as busy as ever. Thank goodness I can work from home often. It's funny how many people just can't believe me at first when I tell them that they can pay off their home and debt in a third the time without refinancing or changing their monthly budgets at all. Once they see the math and how simple it really is, the look on their face is PRICELESS. Britney and I are on track to pay off our home in 3.2 years. Crazy huh, especially since we've only been in this home 18 months! It really makes a big difference to have a job where you absolutely know that what you are doing is helping families get out of debt and get ahead in their finances.
We are going picture crazy with Lexi so hopefully we will have lots more pictures to share with you next time we get on the blog. Bye for now!
We wanted to get something up on here for you all to read. Britney will fill you in on some more info later.
